SUMMARY OF QUAILFICATIONS:

Extensive Senior Project Management skills in construction, engineering and planning for both ISP and OSP gained through over 30 years in management in the telecommunications industry.  Created planning and engineering training programs while District Engineering Manager for an ILEC which resulted in a more efficient engineering/planning program.  The engineers that went through the program were all promoted to mid and/or upper management positions in engineering for several telecommunications companies.  I have engineered or project managed everything from the replacement of a magneto exchange in Michigan, to the design of fiber transport rings in three cities simultaneously, design work on Centurylink’s Corning FlexNap FTTH projects in Colorado and Utah and culminating as Director of Engineering for a nationwide group working on Google Fiber and Centurylink projects.

Some career highlights:

·               Resident Engineer for a three exchange REA project in California with over 600 miles of buried plant, a new Digital CO, a 25 mile microwave hop and T-CXR trunk route while monitoring two construction companies simultaneously.

·               Designed and implemented an AutoCAD based Engineering/Records system used by NYNEX for 10 years until the merger with Bell Atlantic to form Verizon, plus trained in and used several other GIS programs including MirorCAD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, EWO, OSPFM, BST.CAD, Nexus Worx, Small World NDS and Weaver.

·               Designing and managing fiber optic projects since 1983 all throughout the USA.

·               Outside Plant Liaison for 14 Digital CO conversion projects for NYNEX in Rhode Island and Southeast Mass.

·               Successfully involved in regulatory issues requiring detailed interaction with the State Legislature, the writing of many briefs and testifying before the Public Service Commission.  Charter Member of the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (NARTE) and a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association.

·               Director of Engineering in charge of a full suite of OSS products for the telecommunications industry – product line eventually purchased by Porta Systems for world-wide distribution.

·               Director of Engineering in charge of organizing the engineering group to serve seven Google Fiber markets and refined the production and monitoring processes that greatly improved overall productivity.

Major clients included:  NYNEX, Brown University, Duke University, Qwest, Bell South and Rocky Mountain Power.  Projects included FITL, FTTP, FTTH, FTTN, FiOS, fiber transport rings for several CLECs, copper distribution design and construction, power and gas distribution design, power distribution placement, a Fundamental Plan Study for FTTH in a 14,000 home project and a Records Conversion Study for Duke University.  Developed an AutoCAD based Records & Engineering system named TAI GeoManager complete with User Manual and Training for NYNEX in Portland, Maine.
